It's 4 Girls

On the 9th of April 2011 my dad gave me an electric  guitar! I was so excited. I’ve played guitar at school in music and my dad and  brother have tried to teach my how to play but not much has truly sunk in up until now. But having my own guitar is a driving force to learn. Plus dad now thinks i can be trusted with one of his fav’s, which has now became mine as well.

So far I have  learn and e chord, c chord, a chord, g chord and d chord. These I was told are basics and if you learn these it will make things a lot easier to play songs later on. I’ve learnt a power chord and a bar chord. Although a bar chord hurt to bend my wrist to get my fingering right but I pushed through and i’m now starting to ‘try’ and learn songs.

My brother Luke has been great.  He has help me learn the art of playing a guitar. So has my dad.  He has been very patient.

If anyone is thinking of taking up guitar as a hobby, for a part in a school band or just a band with a few friends; give it a go! Because you don’t know till  you try it. I know guitar is not for everyone but give it a few goes before you give up plus don’t try to load yourself up with things to learn or  remember because there is no rush so just enjoy it!
